Chelsea James's passion for painting in began 2020. Art has always been a part of her life but when the world shut down, she decided to pick up a paintbrush. She believes that “ the opportunity in art, using any medium, is the ability to communicate, to connect, to provoke and ultimately to inspire emotion.” This point of view can be seen in the art Chelsea has created over the last 15 years through award-winning photography and videography. Ultimately, whatever the platform, Chelsea uses her art to facilitate human connection. In 2022 she had her first solo art exhibit for Rhino art week hosted at Zero Gallery and went on to launch a global brand , CVJ Art, featuring fine art and original digital art designs for clothes. Chelsea’s artistic expression and love for creating art begin through a career in hairdressing. She has been an influential industry leader as a Global Artist and Creative Ambassador for some of the largest global brands in the professional beauty industry. She has been a stylist at New York Fashion Week, as well as many other creative photo and video shoots. Chelsea is a published artist, as seen in Allure, Unique Art, Estetica, Pure Trend Magazine, 5280, 303 Magazine, Modern Salon, American Salon, Milady Pro, Professional Beauty Association, and Hairbrained. Chelsea has been the recipient of many awards recognizing her artistic talent for many mediums including video, photography, creative direction:

- 2017 the first woman to win a Hairbrained Video Award [HVA]
- 2017 North American Hairdressing Awards [NAHA] Avant Garde Category
- 2018 second Hairbrained Video Award 2018 L’Oréal Professionnel Color & Style Trophy Award winner
- 2019 Colorado Hairdresser of the Year by 303 Magazine
- 2020 Avant Garde Southwest Hairstyling Award.

I art on anything! I have designed clothing, murals, digital products, party swag for all kinds of celebrations, all sorts of walls, both residential and commercial, furniture, plates, doors, and even on people (at their request). Please don't hesitate to reach out with any project you would like commissioned. For me, it is extremely important to have an intentional, conscious connection to what I'm making. When I'm commissioned for a piece, I feel it is a high honor and believe the frequency with which things are created is just as important as the finished work.
